Episode 3 - Japanese learning with FFXIV

Welcome back to the third episode of ⋆.˚⟡ ࣪ ˖Japanese learning with FFXIV˖࣪ ⟡˚.⋆. Last week I talked about my journey learning Japanese before starting the blog. This weeks chapter is gonna be a bit shorter because I kind of forgot about it. (Just realized that xiv friends 2.0 kind of killed images in blogs so I'm using imgur links instead)

Anyway this week I'm going to talk about some random stuff just because I really have no idea for a topic that I could write a whole blog episode about so what about tools to help in learning Japanese.

I'll start with a app that I would recommend to someone that has anki, a iPhone and a way to sideload apps. I would recommend them a app called Amgi, this is a "modernized" version of anki that uses the apple design language so things like liquid glass, smooth animations and a certain refined feel. The biggest downside to it is the fact that you need to set up a sync server to sync your decks with the computer version, but other than that its a thousand times better than the official app.

Next up will be one of the most used extensions for Japanese is Yomitan. It can scan words in your browser and give you the reading, meaning, how commonly used it is, what grade you learn it in school and automatically add it to your anki for you to study it later.

And to finish it off another extension called Kuraji. This extension is used for adding subtitles to any video on your browser which means that you can add subtitles to a movie and then use Yomitan to scan words directly from your browser.

Sorry for this episode being so short and uninteresting but thank you so much for reading this blog. It means so much to me. (also I now have my school schedule and holy shit it's terrible so possibly this will become a bi weekly thing but I'll see) Bye Bye.
